I have just returned from this year’s two day “Customer” conference in Auckland.
It was a pleasure to present and co-chair this year’s event but more importantly to experience the passion, knowledge and the rapidly developing skill base NZ business now has available to assist to develop a comprehensive strategy right across the Customer Experience spectrum.
This was the third conference ever on this vital business development and growth area, attended by delegates representing a broad range of New Zealand business.
This year’s event brought together two vital areas of a customer experience strategy- analytics and development and delegates had the option of attending break -out sessions focusing on both areas.
It is difficult to pick highlights, all presentations were of a high quality but of particular interest to me was Andrew Holt, Managing Director of advertising company Clemenger BBDO key note address on “Leading the company towards customer service excellence”.
Those who participated in Matt Currie & Kelly Ryan from Divergents’ interactive session on “interviewing and observing your customers’ to uncover their needs” not only had a lot of fun but learnt some valuable techniques
Jillian O’Neill Director of public relation company Oomphatic speaking on “developing a strong PR strategy to hgh tablets manage customer relations”. Jillian had us all paying close attention as she outlined how they have put her home town of Te Aroha on the map over a battle to get some simple signage approved by NZ Transport.
To wrap up a great two days NZ Television icon and the longest serving Fair Go presenter Kevin Milne shared with us a number of great and not so great stories he covered during his time at Fair Go and his thoughts on how a future NZ customer will interact with business.
Mix this with an outline on advances in technology and how this will change how we will do business in the future and an insight into the work Chris Mc Dermott and Kirsten Saunders from KiwiBank have been doing to change the future Post Shop & KiwiBank experience for customers and I for one left the conference excited and grateful for the opportunity to attend and learn.
